Family, family, family. All you care about is Family. Society doesn't need anymore family stuff. What society needs is a strict government. What society really need is harsh laws and even harsher punishments. Not mushy gushy family.
Hey Shi, if we focused more on family and morals we wouldn't need so much government control. If we lead people by virtue (what is right and moral), people will have a sense of what is right without laws telling them what to do.
Really you two we are all just a part of nature. We should not fight one another. While in nature there are opposing forces we should all strive for being in harmony with the Dao.
I personaly think daoism+confucius would create the best philosophy ever. with the ideas of puting your family and the inviroment will both help stop polution + it will help stop crime.

alex eby in your bell B says... i like his saying Moral leadership, not laws, brought order to china. i like this because leadership is always a good thing because some people might like some of the laws or not like any or so on and so they can try and be a leader and maybe change it some.

I think that this story is all about how the law and power is more important than family. And i think it isn wrong. Also that i think Confucius is the best b/c he cares for his familey more than the law and power of the goverment.

I will admit, Huangdi, your type of government does work, but people hate you for it. They believe it is too strict and too harsh. So dont be surprised if people try to assassinate you. Go with what Confusious says. If we have moral leaders who lead good lives, people would want to be like them and also lead good lives. It would keep on going and going.
